My high school earth science teacher once said, "The universe is expanding. However, the speed at which humans travel is incomparably slower than the speed at which the universe is expanding. It is highly likely that humanity will go extinct before we can understand the universe beyond our solar system." I was certain this was a lie. However, to gain a deeper understanding of the universe, we need speeds that are fundamentally beyond imagination. We pay respect to our wise predecessors, but we do not intend to accept their theories as they are. The theory of relativity and Maxwell's electromagnetism define light as the fastest speed in the universe, but that too is likely to be incorrect. Humanity will travel through a universe that transcends the very concept of speed. As a first step, we aim to develop rockets capable of achieving speeds 10 to 100 times faster than existing chemical rockets, establishing the means to explore the largely unexplored outer regions of the solar system. These technologies will not only enable distant space exploration but also make near-Earth object exploration a reality. Speed is the very magic of the modern space industry.
